ROYSTON PROGRAMME NOTES

Dear Supporter

Here we are right at the business end of the season – three games left and still all to play for – remember Tiverton anyone?!  We can only go out and win our games – results for those around us are out of our hands.  It makes for an interesting end to the season to say the least!  Come on you Reds!

The Trust has been doing fund-raising recently including the FA CUP GOALS SPONSORS DRAW.  This was drawn towards the end of March and raised £350 – well done to all the winners and thanks to everyone who bought a raffle ticket.  The winners’ names will appear against the specific goals drawn out on the FA Cup Goals board once it has been updated.

We also held a race night with funds raised being split between the Trust and the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund.  The Trust has always supported the Fund.  Over 80 people attended on the night and a total in excess of £1600 was raised – from pre-sold horses/jockeys/race sponsorship and money raised on the night.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to the event.  Thanks also to Martin, Janet, Michelle and Rob for their hard work on the night.

Ian Jefferies, treasurer and trustee of the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund had the following to say regarding the Race Night “I'd like to thank everybody who attended and organised the recent race night. The Kettering Town 'Poppies' Supporters Trust have been a great support to our charity and the Cecil family since we started and it's very much appreciated.  Apologies for not being able to attend last night.  You lot are the best!”

The Trust is also organising a golf day on behalf of the Club and our chosen charity is the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund with a percentage of the funds raised going to the Fund.  Full details can be found on our Facebook page and there are posters around the Clubhouse.  We are now on the look out for Fourballs to take part and of course sponsors for the event.

We thank Kettering Golf Club for hosting us and you will see there will be various prizes on offer on the day - including a big Hole in One competition.  Please contact any member of the Trust Board if you have any interest in playing, sponsoring, donating a prize.

One of our long-standing background fund-raisers has been Easyfundraising  - we have raised over £1100 over the several years we have been running this scheme.  It is so easy to use and there is no cost to you as the shopper.  Just go to easyfundraising.org.uk and set up an account, choose your cause (the Trust!) and shop away.  You can also download the app if you are of that persuasion – unsure what to do, then speak to a Trust Board member.  Thank you to everyone who has been shopping this way and raising funds for the Trust.

We recently welcomed Billy Welland and Chris Bright to the Board.  That has been swiftly followed by another new addition - Lee Wright.  Lee is a long standing Poppies fan, whose voice is well known at Latimer Park as the match day announcer.  He will be another valuable addition to the Board

The Trust was saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Evans recently.  Paul was a life member of the Supporters Trust and a familiar face around Latimer Park.  We send our condolences to Trish and his family and friends.  Rest in peace Paul.
