AFC TELFORD PROGRAMME NOTES

The Club is doing some renovation work in and around the Clubhouse in the coming weeks.  The Trust has recently donated £2,500 to the Club towards the renovation, specifically the toilets.  As you know, the Trust likes to donate money towards projects which benefit the fans.  We felt this was one of those scenarios as per our aims and objectives:

❖     To strengthen the bonds between Kettering Town Football Club and the community and to represent the interests of the community in the running of the Club

❖     To encourage the Club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions

❖     To encourage and promote the principle of supporter representation on the Board of the Club and ultimately to be the vehicle for democratic elections to the Board

❖     To raise money and donate in such a way to promote the aims and objectives of the Trust and to the benefit of the local community and the supporters of the Club.

❖     To benefit present and future members of the community served by the Club by promoting, encouraging and furthering the game of football as a recreational facility, sporting activity and focus for community involvement.

❖     To maximise the potential, future success and stability of Kettering Town Football Club.

Our current fundraiser is the FA CUP GOALS SPONSORS DRAW and it is being drawn today so if you have bought a ticket, good luck!  Thank you to everyone for buying a ticket(s).

We will be holding a Race Night for the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund – 50% split between the Fund and the Trust – on Friday 11 April 2025.  Please buy a horse or jockey or sponsor a race for this very worthwhile cause.  The Fund sends families, who struggle financially, on holiday to Burnham-on-Sea.  Come along on the night if you can – ticket includes sausage and

chips – and have a fun evening and possibly win some money!

One of our long-standing background fund-raisers has been Easyfundraising  - we have raised over £1100 over the several years we have been running this scheme.  It is so easy to use and there is no cost to you as the shopper.  Just go to easyfundraising.org.uk and set up an account, choose your cause (the Trust!) and shop away.  You can also download the app if you are of that persuasion – unsure what to do, then speak to a Trust Board member.  Thank you to everyone who has been shopping this way and raising funds for the Trust.

We would like to welcome two new Trust Board members – Bill Welland and Chris Bright.  Bill approached the Trust to see if he and Chris could be of any help to us and we bit his hand off!  It is great to have them on Board and they have plenty of fund-raising ideas (and enthusiasm) so keep an eye out for details of these going forward.

On the other side of the coin, Lewis Horne has stepped down from the Board – many thanks to Lewis for his input over the years – it has been much appreciated.

We welcome our old foes AFC Telford to Latimer Park – appreciate that AFC are the reincarnation of what was Telford Utd but the history between our two clubs is still there.  A lot has been said over the last few months, both on the terraces and on social media, about our inconsistent form etc so no point in repeating it here.  Richard Lavery and the players know what needs to be done so let’s just get on with it!
