GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY PROGRAMME NOTES 5th October 2024

Dear Supporter

Great wins recently at home to Lowestoft and Stamford – the Stamford win particularly satisfying given they currently lead the way at the top of the table.  We followed those wins up with the FA cup game away to St Ives – a good win which has seen us drawn away to Farsley in the next round – given their ground situation we are not entirely sure where it will be played!

Today, we start our FA Trophy campaign.  I think we can all agree that our record in the Trophy has been pretty poor overall so a nice run this season would be welcome!

The Trust recently donated £150 to the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund leading up to the annual football match between Angry Birds and the Sonics.  Unfortunately the game was called off due to the adverse weather.  John Cecil (JC to most of us) advised “we have managed to raise £250 in a couple of hours through the scheduled raffle and 3 football cards with just the usual Sunday lunchtime suspects and family. With the £150 donated from the Trust we have boosted the Dylan Cecil Memorial fund by £400.  We can never, ever put into words how grateful we are to the Poppies family but please know that from the bottom of our hearts that we are truly grateful for all your support not just now but also over the past twelve years of heartbreak. We will hopefully be able to re-arrange the actual game in the near future.  Once again thank you to you all, your support really does make all the difference and we have, to date, assisted in arranging and funding over 20 holidays in the Burnham area for deserving families to make special, lasting memories together”.

All you need to do is go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ketteringtownpoppiessupporterstrust and join for free.  Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.  After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to the Trust for no extra cost whatsoever!  It will work the same for the Club and those details can be found on the Club’s media outlets.  No matter which page you go to, ultimately the money raised will go to the Club in some way or another.

The WORKING TOGETHER boards continue to fill up.  Board No 1 is now full and can be seen on the far side of the ground above the fence near the dug outs.  Board No 2 is filling up too.   You can add your name by joining the Poppies Trust. POPPIES TRUST: MEMBERSHIP (ktfctrust30.blogspot.com); membership is £10, adding your name will be a further £10.  Life membership is £100.

Alternatively, scan this QR code.

We are looking to end this initiative at the end of October, so still time to add your name to the board.

Thanks for all your support.
