AFC TELFORD PLAY OFF FINAL PROGRAMME NOTES
Play Off Final vs Telford
Well, here we go for the final match of the season. I think that had we been offered a playoff final and the chance for promotion on the very last day of the season, way back in August I guess most of us would have taken that and been absolutely delighted.
Full credit goes to Richard Lavery and the Team for keeping us entertained all the way o the dying embers. Last Wednesday night was a wonderful occasion, which football fans don’t get to enjoy too often, so to prevail in that tense penalty shoot-out was a marvellous result.
As the Supporters Trust, it is important that we acknowledge the job done by the support base in helping get the club to this position too. Almost 3000 people in attendance last week, and I expect the same again today. Hopefully the vast majority will consider joining the Trust and help us continue our role in supporting the Club also.
On that point, it has been fantastic for me to see new blood and energy join the trust Board in recent week in the form of Lee Wright, Chris Bright and Billy Welland. In just a few short weeks their enthusiasm, vigour and general love for our football club has brought a renewed energy that had perhaps been missing in recent times from our Board. However, that does not mean we were still not focused on our goal of improving the lot for the Poppies Faithful. This season alone we made a sizeable donation to the club in order to refurbish the toilets of the clubhouse as part of the wider refresh plan. We look forward to this work being fully completed in due course so that we can all enjoy a clean and safe environment when we visit the club.
Our fundraising efforts have continued, and we hosted a fantastic Race Night a few weeks ago alongside the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund Charity where we raised a magnificent £1,652 which will be shared between the two Groups.
In July we have our Golf Day (16th July) which is proving very popular but there are spaces left. If you are interested in joining in please speak to any Trust Member or directly to Billy Welland – billywelland@yahoo.co.uk or to Chris Bright at chris.bright4479@outlook.com
We will aim to have other events and activities over the summer, so please keep an eye out for these and support.
That said however the best support that we can give is via our membership. All monies we raise eventually are used to assist the club in whatever format that may take, but we can only achieve this with support from our members who are of course supporters of KTFC. We are the second oldest Trust in the Country, but can only operate with the commitment of our Board members and the support of our members. Please do consider joining us.
With that, let’s hope the season ends on a high with a Fantastic 4-0 Home win.

BANBURY UTD PROGRAMME NOTES
Dear Supporter
So here we are – last game of the season – play-offs guaranteed at the time of writing these notes with two games to go. Who knows what happened on Bank Holiday Monday – are we still in with a chance of winning the league – the joy of writing programme notes in advance! Whatever happens, no matter how we have and haven’t played, this is infinitely better than last season.
After our recent fund-raising efforts with the FA Cup goals raffle and the Race Night, the Trust continues with the organising of a golf day on behalf of the Club and our chosen charity - the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund - with a percentage of the funds raised going to the Fund. Full details can be found on our Facebook page and there are posters around the Clubhouse. We are now on the look out for Fourballs to take part and, of course, sponsors for the event. We thank Kettering Golf Club for hosting us and there will be various prizes on offer on the day including a big Hole in One competition. Please contact any member of the Trust Board if you have any interest in playing, sponsoring, donating a prize.
We held a golden egg raffle on Easter Saturday – £60 and the easter egg went to the holder of the ticket of the first goal scored in the Royston game. Lucky winner was Gary Graham! Thank you to everyone for buying a ticket. We also handed out crème eggs to young Poppies supporters in and around the Clubhouse.
The Trust has held its annual player of the year vote amongst members – can’t announce the winner here as that old curse – writing notes in advance – comes into play again! Previous winners have included Dan Jarvis, Gary Stohrer (twice), Alex Brown, Rene Howe, James Brighton to name but a few.
One of our long-standing background fund-raisers has been Easyfundraising - we have raised over £1300 over the years we have been running this scheme. It is so easy to use and there is no cost to you as the shopper. Just go to easyfundraising.org.uk and set up an account, choose your cause (the Trust!) and shop away. You can also download the app if you are of that persuasion – unsure what to do, then speak to a Trust Board member. Thank you to everyone who has been shopping this way and raising funds for the Trust.
On a personal note, a friend and fellow Poppies fan, Andy Hurley, sadly died recently after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Only in his late 50’s Andy was a truly nice guy and he will be missed by those that knew him. Rest in peace Andy.
Thanks go to the Club and Terry Brumpton for giving over a regular page in the home match day programme this season for the Trust.
So let’s take a deep breath and see you all at the end of the 90 minutes ……….

ROYSTON PROGRAMME NOTES
Dear Supporter
Here we are right at the business end of the season – three games left and still all to play for – remember Tiverton anyone?! We can only go out and win our games – results for those around us are out of our hands. It makes for an interesting end to the season to say the least! Come on you Reds!
The Trust has been doing fund-raising recently including the FA CUP GOALS SPONSORS DRAW. This was drawn towards the end of March and raised £350 – well done to all the winners and thanks to everyone who bought a raffle ticket. The winners’ names will appear against the specific goals drawn out on the FA Cup Goals board once it has been updated.
We also held a race night with funds raised being split between the Trust and the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund. The Trust has always supported the Fund. Over 80 people attended on the night and a total in excess of £1600 was raised – from pre-sold horses/jockeys/race sponsorship and money raised on the night. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the event. Thanks also to Martin, Janet, Michelle and Rob for their hard work on the night.
Ian Jefferies, treasurer and trustee of the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund had the following to say regarding the Race Night “I'd like to thank everybody who attended and organised the recent race night. The Kettering Town 'Poppies' Supporters Trust have been a great support to our charity and the Cecil family since we started and it's very much appreciated. Apologies for not being able to attend last night. You lot are the best!”
The Trust is also organising a golf day on behalf of the Club and our chosen charity is the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund with a percentage of the funds raised going to the Fund. Full details can be found on our Facebook page and there are posters around the Clubhouse. We are now on the look out for Fourballs to take part and of course sponsors for the event.
We thank Kettering Golf Club for hosting us and you will see there will be various prizes on offer on the day - including a big Hole in One competition. Please contact any member of the Trust Board if you have any interest in playing, sponsoring, donating a prize.

We recently welcomed Billy Welland and Chris Bright to the Board. That has been swiftly followed by another new addition - Lee Wright. Lee is a long standing Poppies fan, whose voice is well known at Latimer Park as the match day announcer. He will be another valuable addition to the Board
The Trust was saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Evans recently. Paul was a life member of the Supporters Trust and a familiar face around Latimer Park. We send our condolences to Trish and his family and friends. Rest in peace Paul.
